Water Hygiene, Medical Gases and Estates & Facilities Management
With over 30 years experience in all aspects of water safety & hygiene and estates management in the healthcare sector, Mervyn has led the development of Eastwood Park's new portfolio of water courses for both healthcare and non-healthcare organisations.
Following a successful career in the NHS, he set up his own consultancy company, Synergistic Solutions Consultancy Ltd. providing NHS and private healthcare organisations with expert consultancy services as an Authorising Engineer (Water) and bespoke training. He also delivers training at Eastwood Park Training.
He is a Fellow of IHEEM as well as a member of IHEEM's Authorising Engineers (Water) register and chair of the water technical platform; a Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute; Member of the Water Management Society and the Royal Society for Public Health. His working experience in the healthcare sector enables him to offer his skills in water safety and the wider estate management fields.
Water Hygiene and Health & Safety
Alan Hambidge has almost 30 years’ experience in the field of health and safety risk management and is a leading expert in Legionellosis and water hygiene.
He is lead trainer on Eastwood Park’s health and safety portfolio, as well as developing and delivering the current portfolio of water hygiene training courses.
Alan is an IA / AE on water and health and safety, and is an active member of various organisations and institutes such as IHEEM, HefmA and IFHE. He is also a three times winner of the IHEEM John Bolton Memorial Prize and runs his own company, Empathy Environmental Consultancy. He runs the on-line "Safety Solutions" web site resource, and has published hundreds of articles and a health and safety book.
Water Hygiene
With over 25 years in the water industry, Mike brings vast experience and in-depth knowledge to our water hygiene courses. Mike founded his own company in 2005, providing Legionella services to a wide range of sectors including healthcare and housing. Mike became an independent consultant in 2014, spending his time training, auditing and supporting a number of NHS organisations as an Authorising Engineer.
His recent experience includes 5 years as a committee member of the Legionella Control Association and he is now one of their Company Auditors, working with member organisations to ensure compliance with the Code of Conduct and raising standards across the industry. He is also a Senior Member of the Water Management Society and a Member of IHEEM, and has given technical papers at numerous events across the UK.
Mike’s qualifications include a HND in Engineering and an honours degree in Water Management; he is a Chartered Environmentalist and an Incorporated Engineer, and believes that higher standards of competence are founded on the provision of high quality training and self-driven professional development.
