Course Details
This course is symbiotic with ‘Board Accountability for Estates’ which is run the day immediately after. This provides the opportunity for delegates to bring Executives to both courses, where the organisation faces a particular issue such as structures, significant backlog or fire compliance.
Organisational Guidance for NHS Providers has historically focussed on Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Fire, without specific direction for Building Surveying and Structures; this is reflected in typical Estates Assurance Frameworks and the FM workforce. National focus on Reinforced Aerated Autoclaved Concrete (RAAC) and ever rising levels of Building Fabric related Backlog has highlighted this gap and left Healthcare Providers exposed in their assurance. This Course offers a model, drawn from HTM-00, that will give organisations a Robust Assurance Framework in which to operate in and the use of Safety Cases to manage risks as low as reasonably practicable.
Who is the course for
- Deputy Directors and Directors of Estates
- Heads of Estates
- Board Directors Accountable for Estates and Health and Safety
- Non-Executive Directors Accountable for Estates and Health and Safety

Aims & objectives

- The Capability to apply HTM00 to Structures; and therefore other categories of operation
- Awareness of the Organisational Structures, Appointments, Committees and Assurance relating to Estates
