Who is the course for

This course is for estates & facilities management staff with responsibility for the provision of safe and suitable healthcare facilities in accordance with official Best Practice and CQC requirements.

It provides a concise introduction and overview of Health Technical Memorandums (HTMs). It is particularly suitable for Directors and Heads of Estates & Facilities who are required to fulfil the role of Designated Person/Responsible Person, as well as estates teams with responsibility for implementing best practice guidance.

Aims & objectives

To enable attendees to gain a thorough understanding of the Health Technical Memorandum guidance and how this relates to the provision and operation of safe and suitable healthcare premises.

BY THE END OF THE COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

– State how the HTM suite of documents relates to the provision and operation of safe and suitable healthcare premises

– Outline the purpose of the HTM series of guidance documents and how HTMs relate to legislative requirements

– List the designated roles in relation to the professional management structure as defined in HTM 00

– Outline the responsibilities each of the designated roles across the suite of HTMs to provide clear understanding of the functions of these roles and the responsibilities the roles carry in relation to the HTM’s.

– Identify the operational, maintenance, testing & monitoring requirements for each of the supporting HTM documents.

This course is designed as an introduction; it does not provide alternative training for the specific engineering specialities within the HTM suite of documents.
