BY THE END OF THE COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:
- – Identify the legislation and regulations relating to HV substations, HV and LV Switchrooms and safe working practices
- – List the dangers of electricity
- – Understand the function of protective devices
- – List the associated roles and duties
- – State the required entry documentation, permits, risk assessments and control measures
- – Identify potential hazards within a substation layout and contained equipment

For Authorised Persons (Electrical LV), HTM 06-02 recommends retraining every 3 years.
For Authorised Persons (Electrical HV) in healthcare, HTM 06-03 recommends retraining every 3 years, with the same recommendation for those working in the commercial sector.
Yes and no. You do need to be working in a healthcare environment, but we do offer a mechanical to electrical conversion course for non-electrical staff who will be required to work on and around electrical machines and equipment.
On completion of the course delegates will be able to diagnose simple electrical faults and have an understanding of the possible causes and carry out necessary isolations and repairs, whilst understanding their limitations and hazards associated with the electrical systems and machines.
