Who is the course for

This course has been specifically designed for technicians/field service engineers to carry out the periodic testing of human waste container washer-disinfectors, or “bedpan washers”, effectively and in compliance with the current standards and guidance.

Aims & objectives

To provide the underpinning knowledge and practical skills required in order to safely and effectively carry out the periodic testing required in compliance with current standards and guidance.

BY THE END OF THE COURSE YOU WILL BE ABLE TO:

– Explain the need for regular testing of a human waste washer disinfector.

– Identify and reference the appropriate documentation: NHS guidance

– List testing procedures required in accordance with the current NHS guidance.

– Carry out periodic testing.

– Complete test records and interpret results correctly.

– Calibrate and use data logging test equipment as a test recording device.

 

Additional information

The course includes practical work on sterilizers and washer-disinfectors to help in the attainment of the objectives.
