Who is the course for

This course is ideal for individuals and teams who spend time in or around water in a non-lifeguarding, non-specialist capacity. It’s especially useful for those who may not realise the everyday risks associated with swimming pools, lakes, rivers, or recreational water use.

Aims & objectives

Water can be a source of relaxation and recreation, but it also comes with serious risks if not approached with care. This Water Safety Essentials course is designed to give participants the confidence and knowledge to stay safe around swimming pools, lakes, and open water. Covering common hazards, safe behaviours, and how to respond in an emergency, the course provides a practical foundation in personal and team safety. Whether you’re working near water or enjoying it in your own time, these are essential skills everyone should have.
