Largest intake yet onto unique healthcare engineering degrees

18-20 October saw the start of our 2019 degree intake, as healthcare engineering and estates professionals attended Eastwood Park for the first residential study weekend of the year.

Following on from 2018’s record breaking numbers, we are delighted to see the healthcare sector continue to recognise the value of our unique engineering degrees, with over 50 students joining us in 2019 – an increase once again. This large group comprised returning students well established in their studies, as well as three new cohorts, including those continuing their studies onto our BSc programme, having already completed an Eastwood Park foundation degree. We’re glad to see them back for more!

The degrees are all work-based qualifications, the advantages of which should not be underestimated. Learners are able to progress in their roles in the workplace and put learning directly into practice. Supplementing this with attendance at study weekends also provides a chance for students and tutors to get to know each other and discuss the modules in more detail. Sometimes there’s nothing more reassuring than meeting up with fellow students face-to-face who are in the ‘the same boat’ as you!

There’s access to personal one-to-one guidance, individual learning planning sessions, as well as intensive support in engineering maths and science for those who need it. Learners also benefit from having access to hospital equipment and building services installations and lectures delivered by industry experts.

We are partnered with Staffordshire University to deliver the degrees, an institution with over 100 years’ experience in higher education. Earlier this year, Staffordshire achieved a Gold award for learning and teaching quality in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework (TEF).

It’s never too early to apply, and we are already welcoming contact from those considering joining our 2020 intake. Choose from

  • Foundation degree hospital engineering
  • Foundation degree medical equipment technologies
  • BSc (Hons) management of healthcare engineering technologies & facilities

A degree is a significant undertaking, so no doubt you have questions which our expert degree team will be more than happy to answer.
