Working in a university estates team? Here’s how we could help you

We are working with an increasing number of universities to support training needs within their estates and facilities departments – so if you are working within the higher education sector and haven’t utilised us yet, how can we help you?

We’re a leading provider of estates & facilities management training, encompassing electrical, mechanical, lift, water hygiene, HVAC, fire and medical gases.  Our focus is accredited and highly practical training for engineers and E&FM teams.

With our extensive experience in healthcare, there are strong parallels in the demands of a busy estate whether a university or hospital.  Increasingly, universities are turning to the guidance provided in the Health Technical Memoranda (HTMs); these provide a comprehensive framework of policies, procedures and best practice, which are assisting those responsible, meeting statutory health & safety requirements.

A dedicated training facility within the South West of England, Eastwood Park provides both onsite training and residential courses; maximising the opportunity of applying practical learning – including HV/ LV switch room facilities,  one of the few lift training towers in the country and the only ‘live’ MGPS outside a hospital environment.

We have also recently started delivering Boiler operation accreditation scheme (BOAS) training at our own premises, in partnership with renowned boiler experts Cochran.

And whether you require water hygiene and Legionella training for your facilities on campus, or to safeguard students living in your halls of residence, Eastwood Park offers a number of courses to ACoP L8 and HSG 274.

David Hughes, Mechanical & Electrical Services Manager at the University of Bath recently attended our high voltage training and commented “A great course. Excellent instructor with vast subject knowledge”, adding that he felt he benefited from “the mix of practical and theory in close proximity”. Keith Wilson of London Southbank University (Electrical Contract Delivery Manager) who attended AP lift training with us this year also praised “the balance between classroom and practical”. This is a theme that comes up again and again in feedback, with our blended approach to learning preparing you for the real-life environment rather than being ‘just’ a knowledge transfer.
