Relinquishing the reins after 27 years at Eastwood Park

Lin Willis who has been joint owner and Facilities Director at Eastwood Park in Falfield, near Bristol retired last month (March) after 27 years.

Lin was part of a highly successful management buyout in 2003 and as joint owner and Board Director, she has led the running of the large 200 acre estate and facilities.  She has been a familiar face at the centre for many years having originally ensured the smooth running of the hotel services there.

Located on the outskirts of Thornbury, the venue and training centre has always enjoyed a long association with the National Health Service as it was the national NHS Hospital Engineering training centre, where all hospital engineers were trained. Today it remains not only a thriving training centre, although now totally independent and still servicing many parts of the NHS. It is perhaps more commonly known in the wider South Glos/Falfield/Thornbury community as a popular location for country house weddings, many business functions, as well as an excellent stop for a Sunday carvery and other celebrations.

John Thatcher, joint owner and CEO commented:  “Business growth and diversity over the last 14 years, has meant Lin’s focus has been on all aspects of maintaining and running a large 200 acre estate and its training facilities 24/7, including looking after its tenants. We are pleased that Lin will still be contributing to the development of the business as a Non-executive Director.”
