Celebrating Apprenticeship Week 2026: Meet Our Apprentices

Apprenticeship Week is an opportunity to celebrate the people, programmes, and pathways that are shaping the future of our workforce. Our apprentices bring fresh perspectives, commitment, and enthusiasm to their roles, while developing valuable skills and building meaningful careers.

Across a wide range of departments, our apprentices are gaining hands-on experience, growing in confidence, and making real contributions to the organisation. This week, we are proud to introduce Eastwood Park’s apprentices, Holly, Harvey, and Morgan, and share their journeys so far.

Meet Holly – Business Administration Level 3 Apprentice

Holly is currently completing her Level 3 Business Administration apprenticeship, where she supports a wide range of day-to-day administrative tasks across the team. She was drawn to administration because of the variety the role offers and the many different career paths it can lead to.

Holly’s Experience So Far

One of the highlights of Holly’s apprenticeship has been meeting new people and building her confidence. When she first started, she described herself as quite shy, but over time she has grown both personally and professionally. She’s developed strong communication skills, improved her IT abilities, and gained a deeper understanding of the industry she’s involved in.

Impact and Growth

Holly feels more confident and secure in her role and is proud of how far her skills have come. A standout achievement for her has been successfully completing and passing her college assignments, particularly a detailed policies and procedures essay she worked hard on.

Looking Ahead

With just over a year left of her apprenticeship, Holly is excited about the future. After completing the programme, she hopes to continue working and building on her experience as she develops her career in administration.

Meet Harvey – MOET Apprentice

Harvey is completing a Level 3 Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician (MOET) apprenticeship, due to finish in March 2026. The three-year programme gives him hands-on experience across mechanical, electrical, and technical maintenance, with work ranging from general maintenance to more complex engineering tasks. Harvey was drawn to the apprenticeship after discovering how much he enjoyed practical, hands-on learning.

Harvey’s Experience So Far

Harvey has particularly enjoyed learning new skills and working with equipment he hadn’t expected to encounter. Although he didn’t originally picture himself in an engineering role, the variety and technical challenges have been a real highlight.

Since starting, Harvey has developed a wide range of skills, including mechanical and electrical knowledge, low- and high-voltage awareness and experience with sterilisers and washer-disinfectors. He’s also grown in confidence when communicating with colleagues and working across different departments.

Impact and Growth

Harvey feels he’s grown significantly, becoming more confident taking ownership of tasks and stepping into leadership moments when needed. A proud moment for him was repairing autoclaves for the first time, gaining hands-on experience and seeing the equipment returned to service gave him a strong sense of achievement.

Looking Ahead

After completing his apprenticeship, Harvey hopes to take on more responsibility within decontamination services and continue developing his technical expertise, progressing steadily over the coming years.

Meet Morgan – Azure Cloud Support Apprentice

Morgan is currently completing an Azure Cloud Support apprenticeship, with just one month left of the programme. His role supports both Eastwood Park Training and the Country House technical operations, giving him valuable experience within a fast-paced and constantly evolving IT environment.

He was attracted to the apprenticeship by the wide range of pathways available once completed, as well as the opportunity to continually upskill and progress within the industry.

Morgan’s Experience So Far

One of the things Morgan has enjoyed most is learning new skills and keeping up to date in an industry where technology moves quickly. Starting out with limited IT knowledge, he’s embraced the challenge and developed strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

Impact and Growth

Morgan feels he’s grown both personally and professionally. Working with colleagues from different backgrounds has helped him build confidence, while taking ownership of projects has strengthened his leadership skills and initiative.

A standout achievement for Morgan has been his involvement in a Microsoft 365 migration project, helping move both businesses move from traditional server-based storage to cloud-based solutions, a responsibility he’s particularly proud of.

Looking Ahead

After completing his apprenticeship, Morgan hopes to continue developing his IT skills and move into a permanent role within the company, where he can decide which area of IT he’d like to specialise in.

Our Commitment to Apprenticeships

Apprenticeships play a vital role in developing talent, creating opportunities, and building strong career pathways. Through hands-on experience, structured learning, and dedicated support, our apprentices gain the skills and confidence they need to succeed, while making a real difference to our organisation.

This Apprenticeship Week, we are proud to celebrate Holly, Harvey and Morgan. Their journeys highlight the value of investing in people and the positive impact apprenticeships have on individuals, teams, and the future of our workforce.

If you’re considering an apprenticeship, there’s never been a better time to explore where it could take you.
