This course is aimed at staff involved in the safety testing of electrical medical equipment who require an update.


To provide a sound understanding of the philosophy in Safety Testing of Electrical Medical Equipment


By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • List the hazards of electrical medical equipment and identify its causes
  • Classify electrical medical equipment based on Class and Type in accordance to IEC60601-1
  • Differentiate the different tests performed
  • Differentiate between testing to IEC60601-1 and IEC62353
  • Perform routine electrical safety testing in accordance to IEC 60601-1/IEC 62353

This course involves performing electrical safety test in accordance to IEC 60601-1/IEC 62353 on various medical equipment commonly encountered in a medical environment.
