This course is aimed at National Health Service staff or contractors required to carry out periodic testing of flexible endoscope washer disinfectors.

Aim

To provide delegates with the necessary skills and procedural practices to accurately carry out the periodic testing of flexible endoscope washer disinfectors in line with current standards and guidance.

Objectives

 By the end of the course you will be able to:

  • Describe the procedures for annual testing of flexible endoscope washer disinfectors.
  • Demonstrate annual testing methods for flexible endoscope washer disinfectors.
  • Complete test records and correctly interpret the results.
  • Describe the microbiological tests listed in standards and guidance.
  • Explain the results obtained from an external laboratory.
  • Evaluate workplace logbooks and quarterly/annual test records.

Prerequisite to attending the course

You must have passed WTM2 - Automated endoscope reprocessors - quarterly testing (to NHS guidance) to attend this course.
