Is this for me?

Our degree programmes are open to those working within one of the above healthcare engineering disciplines or estates & FM disciplines.

You may be considering your next career move and if you have been working as possibly a technician/engineer or within the hospital estates team for several years, in order to progress to a more senior position or a more managerial role many employers demand a degree; although you can't beat experience, a degree level qualification will help your standing in the employment market.

Programme information

It's is a two-year work-based blended learning programme enabling you to learn in the workplace, through workbooks, online study and tests and direct practice. With the addition of four residential study and assessment weekends per year at Eastwood Park's training centre.

Programme fees

The costs for these new programmes are in line with equivalent undergraduate qualifications, for which you may be eligible for a student loan, subject to certain criteria.

Year 1  Foundation Degree       £6,500 (+VAT)
Year 2 Foundation Degree £6,500 (+VAT)
Year 3 BSc (Hons)   £6,500 (+VAT)

These are course fees; there will be some small additional costs related to four residential study weekends that take place each year.

In partnership...

Eastwood Park has partnered with industry focussed Staffordshire University to deliver these new programmes with us.

IHEEM confirm that the Membership & Registration Committee approved both of these courses as meeting the academic requirements for registration as an Engineering Technician:

  • Foundation Degree Hospital Engineering
  • Foundation Degree Medical Equipment Technologies

This means that successful students will be able to move to registration as an EngTech, subject to being a member of IHEEM, and the completion of a short pro-forma report covering the “E” competencies, to supplement those covered in the course, probably more specifically related to their work.

Maths support

We know  it can feel somewhat daunting returning to study after a gap and we are aware some do find the maths element particularly challenging.  To help we do offer additional support: during the first three months - between study weekend 1 and 2 - you’ll have a math’s module to complete that supports the Engineering Science module which begins on study weekend 2. There really is lots of additional support so don’t be deterred, give it a go.
